Village Theater Searches for Artists

The Village Theater at Cherry Hill is accepting proposals for it's Gallery exhibitions.

Local and regional artists interested in showcasing their work can turn their attention to the Village Theater at Cherry Hill.

Theater officials are looking for solo or group exhibitions for the gallery during the 2012 exhibition season.

“The artworks will be displayed in the gallery at the Village Theater for a month,” Canton Arts Coordinator Jennifer Tobin said in an email to Canton Patch on Tuesday.

The public art committee of Canton’s Commission for Culture, Arts and Heritage assembles the selecting committee for the exhibition, Tobin said in the email.

The gallery showcases various mediums of art such as the pressed flower artwork by artist Shelley Xie that is currently on display.

Over 5,000 visitors come through the theater each month and see the artwork in the gallery, according to Tobin.

The Village Theater gallery is open for free viewing Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and during public performances.
