WSDP, 88.1 The Park, Celebrates 40th Anniversary with Reunion and Euchre Tournament

WSDP will host a Reunion and Euchre Tournament to benefit the student radio station for the Plymouth-Canton Community Schools.

I have the privilege of managing WSDP Radio, the high school radio station for the Plymouth-Canton Community Schools.  The station is celebrating 40 years of impacting the lives of students and serving the Plymouth-Canton Community with a reunion on Saturday October 13, at Schoolcraft Community College.  The station will also host their first annual WSDP Euchre Classic on Friday October 12, at 7pm at the Salem High School Cafeteria.  The tournament is open to the public.

The Reunion Planning Committee is finalizing what will be a nostalgic and entertaining evening for alums.  "The event will include dinner, dancing, games, prizes, and a lot of looking back on old memories," said April Scarlett, a WSDP staff member from 1986 to 1989.

I had a chance to attend my 20th Anniversary High School Reunion but nothing is like a WSDP Reunion.  We'll have 40 years of students that are different in many ways but united in their common love for WSDP and the time they spent on the air.  I'm not sure if I will attend another high school reunion but I wouldn't miss a WSDP Reunion, and I know that is the case for many other former staff members.

Tickets for the reunion are $50 and can be reserved by calling 734-416-7732 or by emailing 881ThePark@gmail.com.  If you know a WSDP Alum please pass on the information.

The station will also host the first annual WSDP Euchre Classic on Friday Oct. 12, at 7pm at the Salem High School Cafeteria.  The tournament is $30 per person and will include food, cash prizes and a chance to win a door prize.  The Euchre Tournament is open to the public and more information is available at wsdpeuchre@gmail.com

We hope the Euchre Classic will become an annual event that helps raise funds for the student radio station.
