Big Fun On Tap For Canton's Liberty Fest

Enjoy a full lineup of carnival rides, games and special attractions as Liberty Fest returns to Heritage Park in Canton, MI from June 12 - 14, 2014. Canton Leisure Services will once again host this three-day action-packed festival in beautiful Heritage Park, located adjacent to Canton’s Administration Building, west of Canton Center Road between Cherry Hill Road and Summit Parkway.

This year’s event will take place on Thursday, June 12, and Friday, June 13 from 1 – 11 PM. and on Saturday, June 14 from 10:30 AM – 11 PM.

Folks will enjoy an expanded lineup of carnival rides, games and special attractions. If carnival rides and games are your thing, then they’ve got just what you need in the Family Zone. You can purchase a single day armband in advance and save. Armbands allow access for one day only onto all the exciting carnival rides without a ticket. You can get your armbands online at www.cantonlibertyfest.com before Thursday, June 12 at Noon and save! Don’t forget, we have Mega Bands that are good for unlimited rides for all three days for just $50 that can ONLY be purchased online by June 12 at Noon. All sales are final. Be sure to take in the summer debut of the free Thursday Night Concert Series at the Canton Live! Stage from 7:30 – 10:30 PM. The Dan Rafferty Band performs everything you'd expect from a great party band. Also on Thursday from 7:30-9:00 PM, celebrate another year of Zumba® in Canton with a special “Zumba Party in Pink” at the Heritage Park Amphitheater. Participants are asked to show their support for Breast Cancer Awareness and Research and make a ‘move’ to help make a difference. Admission to the event is a $5 minimum donation to the Susan G. Komen Foundation.

Throughout Liberty Fest, the Canton Rotary Club will be hosting an Adult Beverage Tent, which is sponsored by Liberty Street Brewing Company. Come cool off with a cold one, near the Canton LIVE! Stage, where a selection of refreshing beers will be available.

Satisfy your taste buds throughout the festival at the Taste of Canton, sponsored by Twisted Rooster, where participating area restaurants will present their local specialties and compete for bragging rights in a taste contest presided over by Canton Supervisor Phil LaJoy. New this year! Check out Motor City Street Eats' upscale gourmet Food Trucks parked along Veteran's Drive Friday & Saturday from 5-11 PM. Featured trucks include: Concrete Cuisine; Jacque's Tacos; Shimmy Shack; Rollin Stones; Smoken Rhodes BBQ; Dago Joes'; Pita Post; and People's Pierogies.

On Friday on the Canton LIVE! stage, check out Radio Disney Junior Doc McStuffins Toy Check-Up, powered by Children's Hospital of Michigan, part of the DMC from Noon - 3:00 PM.; Third Coast Kings will bring the deep funk and soul from 4:30 - 6:00 PM ; and Parallel Fifth will perform hits from the 80s, 90s and today from 8-10 PM.

Friday's Amphitheater Stage entertainment will feature Worst Case Scenario, performing both hits and original material from 1:30-2:30 PM ; hometown favorites, TwentyFourSeven, will pump up the crowds with their high energy pop/rock sound at 4:45 PM ; The Candy Band, a punk rock band designed specifically to appeal to children will get you movin' from 7-8 PM. Friday night's pre-movie music and games will be provided by Ms. Carissa, with the Movie Under the Stars, featuring “Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2” rated PG, on the big screen at dusk.
