NBC Co-Host Uses Daughter As Prop To Promote Gay Marriage

Gay marriage has never been a hot button topic for me, but I find it abhorrent when a child is exploited in order to promote it. What are your views on this?

First the mandatory disclaimer:  I do not work for, or get paid by Plymouth-Canton Patch.  My views are my own, and not the views of Plymouth-Canton Patch.  NuffSaid

This week's stupidity in politics blog has nothing to do with comedic stupidity in politics as it usually does, because I found nothing funny the subject matter at all.  I bring you Krystal Ball.  Krystal is a co-host of a political talk show called The Cycle, on MSNBC.

Krystal has never held an elected political office, but in 2010 she was the Democratic nominee for Virginia's 1st  congressional district, in the US House of Representatives.  She was defeated in a landslide by Republican incumbent Rob Wittman.

So why Krystal Ball when there are so many other deserving candidates?  Good question.  Her show gets lousy ratings, and like I said, she doesn't hold a political office.  She only ran for political office. (wait till you see why she got trounced)

Basically, she is just another liberal talking head, on a decidedly liberal network.  I chose Krystal because I am interested in what folks think about the stunt she pulled on her show last week.

Anyway, Krystal hosts a segment on her show called Political Playground.  In these segments she interviews her 5 year old daughter Ella on political hotbutton topics.  Sounds kind of cute and fun right?  Maybe so, maybe not so much.  On Thursday, Krystal Ball used her 5 year old daughter as a prop to promote gay marriage on the Political Playground segment.  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F12-Txk0pdI

It was not an interview, in any sense of the meaning.  Interviews are spontaneous.  Interviews with a 5 year old are spontaneous, and often unpredictable.  There was nothing spontaneous or unpredictable about this interview.  Krystal Ball carefully, and artfully steers the conversation in the exact direction she wanted her daughter to go, and elicited the exact answers she wanted her daughter to give.

In my opinion, it was outright manipulation of a 5 year old child.  Some may even consider it child abuse based on the subject matter.  No 5 year old should be forced to have this discussion in any setting, and definitely not on a national cable news show.

No child should be exploited in such a way, but there is more.  At the end of the segment, Ella knows that only in New York can boys marry boys, and girls marry girls.  So, that shows that Mommy is teaching and coaching Ella, to promote the gay marriage agenda.  How many 5 year olds are running around, that can speak intelligently about gay marriage, and the laws governing it?  Ella was coached, and the interview was practiced.  At least as much as an interview can be practiced with a 5 year old child.

Look, here's the deal.  I am constantly amazed by the actions of progressive liberals, and their willingness to stoop to any level to promote their agendas.  But this one, using a 5 year old child absolutely shocked me.  I wondered what kind of woman does such a thing to her own child?

Well, I did Bryan's five minute background check on Mother Ball, and it seems that she is very liberal when it comes to sexuality.  During her campaign to become a United States Congresswoman, pictures surfaced, as they always do, and went viral, of her, at a Christmas party some years prior.  They show Krystal in a Naughty Santa suit sucking on a sex toy that was attached to the nose of her then husband.

There are other racy pics as well, and before you look, you may want to decide if you want to see these pics because of their aforementioned offensive nature.  I linked to them, not for the controversy of them, but rather to paint the full picture of wife and Mother,  Krystal Ball.

I just wonder what Krystal would say if another mother used a segment such as hers to promote a pro life agenda with her child?

Now that is something to think about...
