The Conzelman Regime

This is the first of a two part story of Nancy Conzelman's first months in office. Things have changed, and not for the better.

First the disclaimer.  My opinions are my own, and they do not reflect the opinion of Plymouth-Canton Patch in any imaginable way.  I am not paid by, nor do I work for Plymouth-Canton Patch.  Again what you read here are my opinions, and mine alone.  Nuff Said

Well it seems that the Conzelman regime has started off with a bang.   Myth Nancy is out of the gate off like a white tornado.  What's that?  You don't know Myth Nancy?  Let me give a quick refresher.

Myth Nancy is our new Plymouth Township Clerk.  She ran against, and defeated the incumbent Plymouth Township Clerk, Joe Bridgman.   She beat him by about 14 or 15 votes once a recount was done.

The funny thing about Myth Nancy's campaign was it's stealthiness.  She filed nominating petitions, and then pretty much went into seclusion, counting on the money, and endorsements of Plymouth Township Supervisor Richard Reaume, (King Richard) and Plymouth Township Treasurer Ron Edwards.   I don't think Big  Ron actually donated to Nancy's campaign, which is not surprising, as he has a history of being a pretty cheap fellow.

So basically, Myth Nancy ran on the coattails of Big Ron, and King Richard Reaume.  She never went to any kind of public campaign event.  She skipped the League of Women Voters Candidate Forum.  She went as far as acknowledging the Patch questionnaire, but refused to answer any questions.  Myth Nancy.

Don't get me wrong, Myth Nancy isn't shy by any means.  She is definitely no shrinking violet.  To be clear, Nancy Conzelman has had lot's to say about everything.  She used to use a fake name to comment on Plymouth Patch.  Her name was NuffSaid.  I outted her on that name, and actually sent her an email to rattle her cage a bit.  I'm like that when dealing with people of her ilk.  She didn't return my email, but she did delete her Patch account.

The great thing about the internet and technology though, is that what you write is forever. Yes, I took screen grabs of all of her comments before I notified her that I knew who she was.  I keep them on a disk drive just for laughs, and safekeeping.  Ya never know when things like that can come in handy.

The lies continued throughout her stealth campaign, but the big one, the real whopper was in a letter that King Richard sent to the voters.  I'm gonna brag now, because I was the one that caught Mr. Reaume in his lie.  I caught him, I blogged the story, and a week later the Plymouth Observer copied my story.  Score one for Patch!

Through all of this, Myth Nancy stayed locked up in her closet.  She refused to comment on the letter.  Did I fail to mention that her campaign paid for the letter?  Oh yes, Nancy Conzelman paid for this lie that was sent to all of the Plymouth Township voters.  This letter disparaging Joe Bridgman, was replete with lies.  The whopper though was that he missed more meetings than anyone else and therefore was not fit for public office.

My advice to lying liar Richard Reaume is never tell a lie when the proof of that lie is on the Plymouth Township web site.  What a foolish thing to do.

So Fancy Nancy falsely accuses Mr. Bridgman of missing more meetings than anyone else on the Board of Trustees, and wins by 15 lousy votes.  What does she do for an encore?

Take a moment right now and call Myth Nancy's office at the beautiful Plymouth Township Hall, and you'll find out.  Here's a link to her number.

What?  She's not there?  Not till April 8th?  How long has she been on the job? Roughly 4 months?   Nancy Conzelman, who's salary and benefit package go well over six figures, and is being paid by you the taxpayer, has been on the job a little over 4 months, and she is taking a paid, yes, paid vacation.  She is gone at least a week or longer, I don't really know, but at the very least, a week.

So Myth Nancy, and Lying Richie trashtalk their political opponent for missing meetings that he never missed, and she's on a paid vacation (wanna bet Florida?) less than 6 months into her term.  That to me is horse dung.

Anyway, now you are caught up with why I call her Myth Nancy.  As an aside, Fancy Nancy (her other name) is married to guy named Steve O'Conner.  Stevo used to sit on the Compensation Board until I harassed Richie Reaume about it one day in a phone conversation.

The Compensation Board sets the salary of the Board of Trustees for Plymouth Township.  There was no way I was going to allow him to continue to serve on that Board while his wife is Clerk.  He should have resigned on his own immediately, but these folks aren't real big on integrity.

What?  You are wondering why Nancy and Stevo don't have the same last name?  Frankly, I do not know the answer to that question.  It is something that has confused many of us.  Why isn't it Nancy O'Conner?  She doesn't like the name?  I think it's a fine name.

Maybe they aren't even married?  Who knows with these people.  Well I did hear a rumor that she has made old Stevo change his last name to Conzelman now that she is the big shot in the family.  At least that would take away the confusion, but I digress.

Now I will get to the issues that have me, and others  PO'd.  Before Nancy took her taxpayer paid vacation, she had a chance to actually do her job.

I called up one day to get a DVD of a Board of Trustees meeting.  This is nothing unusual.  I and several people I know have done this in the past.  It is a service provided by municipalities everywhere.

I wanted to get a DVD of the March 12th meeting of the Plymouth Township Board of Trustees.  I couldn't make the meeting because I just had some surgery, and I simply cannot stand or sit through a meeting as of yet.

I wanted to see the fireworks created by our new Trustee Chuck Curmi.  It seems that our new Trustee actually supports transparency, and has the cajones to demand it.

So I made my call to request a DVD copy of the meeting.  I called Myth Nancy's number and obviously got voicemail.  I went down the list and called Michelle Lozier's number, and again voicemail. (More about Michelle later)  Going further down the list I called Diane Leclair, who is the records manager.  Bingo!  Third times a charm.

Based on the conversation, I'm guessing Diane was either confused by my request, or knew that Myth Nancy hates my guts, and fulfilling my request would not be met with giggles and snorts from Her Mythical Majesty.   I was not surprised by her trepidation, so I informed her that if there is a question, she can run upstairs and ask the Big Guy. (I use this term very loosely)  Well, Diane takes my number, and I tell her that I'll stop by the next day to pick up my DVD of the meeting.

Lo and behold, I am literally walking in the door with popcorn (extra butter) and other assorted goodies for the viewing of the meeting, and Diane Leclair calls to inform me that the cost of the DVD is $50.00.  I immediately tell her to run upstairs and ask Mr. Reaume, as he had promised me that the DVD's will be available for no more than $3.00, which is consistant with the prices when Mr. Bridgman was Clerk.

I use these DVD's in order to get quotes right when writing a blog.  I take pride in getting the facts right, because facts matter.  Facts matter.  Ya hearing me Mr. Reaume?  Facts matter, and the truth matters as well Mr. Reaume.

I remember the whole conversation with Reaume, and I specifically asked him about these DVD's because I expected Myth Nancy to use her position to harm me in whatever way she can.

Reward your friends and punish your enemies.  That is the way with this Board of Trustees.

I fully expected her to use her position to put any and all roadblocks in the way of transparency.  After all, she is the one who ran the stealth campaign.

What I wasn't ready for, was Diane Leclair informing me that Richard Reaume claimed he had absolutely no recollection of our conversation.  Never happened.  A conversation that took place roughly 2 months ago.  Can't remember.

Now I know that in Mr. Reaume's eyes, I am lower than whale poop on the bottom of the ocean, but there is no way on Earth he ever forgets a conversation with me.  He tries to avoid them at all costs.  He'd rather have a root canal than talk to me.  His secretary screens me the best she can, but every now and then I get through.

So Richard Reaume lied through his teeth.  I shouldn't be surprised, but it's been awhile since I have dealt with any of these, ahem, elected officials.  Just saying that makes me want to hurl.  Yuck.

So anyway, I'm getting mad, and letting poor Diane have it because Richard Reaume is too much of a coward to handle the situation himself.  Nancy Conzelman is too much of a coward to handle the situation she was elected to do.  So they throw Diane under the bus, and she is stuck dealing with my rapidly rising anger.

Diane Leclair?  I apologize for being rude to you on the phone.  You are right.  You were only the messenger, and my apology is both humble and sincere.

So let's think about this whole DVD thing.  There may be some folks who think it's an imposition to request a DVD of a public meeting of the Board of Trustees.  There may be some who think that $50.00 is a reasonable price, based on cost and time to fulfill it.

If you feel that way, let me kindly inform you that the blank DVD costs a buck or less, depending on how many you purchase at a time.  The time spent to burn the DVD is less than five minutes, depending on the speed of your computer, and you can actually work on other things while it burns.  You'll know it's done when it spits out of the DVD tray on the CPU.  This is not rocket science.

Maybe Mr.  Bridgman was giving too good a deal?  Maybe he should have been charging $50.00?  I didn't know for sure.  I didn't think so.  So I called Canton Township and asked their Clerk's office.  They informed me that they are happy to make them for folks at a cost of $5.00.

They charge $5.00.  Nancy charges $50.00.

Canton $5.00 - Plymouth Township $50.00.

I decided to call some other communities as well, but haven't heard back yet.

Maybe this is how Nancy is funding her paid week off?  I'd bet anything it's Florida.  I'll have to check her Facebook Page and see if it sheds any light on the matter.

Did I tell you that Nancy and Trustee Bobby Doroshewitz (Door-shev-its) are facebook friends?  Isn't that special.   They are neighbors too.  They live in REALLY big houses.  In the rich part of Plymouth Township.  Oh jeez, I'm ready to hurl again.

So obviously Nancy is cut from the same cloth as her friends on the Board of Trustees.  Like Bobby Doroshewitz, she is aloof and smug, like Richard Reaume, she is a pathological liar, and like Big Ron Edwards, she takes pleasure in using her power to reward her friends, and punish her enemies.  One trait that all four share is their maniacal need to cover everything up.  No transparancy whatsoever.  Total bunker mentality.

This is why I write my blogs.  I am a proud Republican, and when somebody embarrasses my party, I do not hesitate to call them out.  That is how it should be.  Good Republicans don't shy away from transparency.  They welcome transparency.

Stop the presses!  Linda Langmesser who is the Clerk for the City of Plymouth just called me.  She indicated to me that her office is happy to provide DVD copies of their meetings for a cost of, (drum roll) $5.00!

City of Plymouth-$5.00  Canton Township-$5.00  Plymouth Township-$50.00.

So moving forward, here is the problem, and I feel bad about it.  Because Nancy Conzelman hates my guts, she decided I would have to pay $50.00 for something that can be produced for $2.00 - $5.00 at most.  Because of that, everybody now gets ripped off.  Because she wanted to punish me, everyone else is gonna feel the effect.  Or are they?  Hmmm

I'll bet that Al Jonna, the owner of The Picnic Basket party store on Ann Arbor Road wouldn't have to pay $50.00 for a DVD.  Al Jonna and Big Ron Edwards are BFF's by the way.  I'll bet Al would get one for free.  Big Ron's way of showing how much he cares.

Knowing these characters at the Plymouth Township Hall, I would not be surprised if prices charged, depended on whether they like you or not.  What?  You don't believe me?  You think I'm crazy?  You think they treat everybody the same?  if you believe that, I would kindly ask you to go to the Plymouth Eagle, which is a local newspaper, and read their March 28th edition.

They are online and also do a print edition once a week.  Kindly read page seven.  The story is called Civility Is Not Optional.

http://www.associatednewspapers.net/editions/eagle032813/index.html

There is also a great piece by their Editor, Susan Willitt called Now, I'm really starting to get annoyed.  Read them both, they are eye opening.

Okay, where was I before Plymouth called?  Oh yeah.  Good public officials love transparency, Republican or Democrat.  Integrity demands that you honestly declare your beliefs.  In other words, honestly declare if you are a Republican of Democrat when you run for public office.  I don't think for a minute that Nancy Conzelman is a Republican.  I have read what she has to say, and many of her statements lead me to believe she is not a Republican.

Nancy's crony, Richard Reaume is most certainly a Democrat even though he runs as a Republican.  Yes, I scooped the Observer again when I was able to obtain a copy of his voter registration card, and it clearly shows that he checked the Democrat box.  The funny thing is, I have talked to a few Democrats, and they don't want him.  I even offered a Trustee to be named later, and a draft pick.  No deal.

Speaking of the draft, I notice that Plymouth Township Supervisor, Richard Reaume drives around his fiefdom with a license plate that claims he is a Vietnam Veteran.  I know for an absolute fact that the closest he has been to Vietnam is Los Angeles, California, and I have some serious questions about what he actually does there on the taxpayer dime.

I guess my point is that these people are not what they portray themselves to be.  Big Ron Edwards loves to go on about how he treats people cordially if they are cordial to him, but then there is this, and this.  Richard Reaume would have you believe he runs this township with integrity, but then there is this.

Actually, Nancy Conzelman at least is honest about things.  She proudly admitted that if she doesn't like you, she is gonna treat you like dirt, and she could care less who knows it.  She doesn't care who she runs over, and she doesn't care about others.

When she took office, the first thing she did was fire the Deputy Clerk.  A nice young man named Eric Bacyinski.  He has a little girl who is cute as a button, and I have no doubt the job was important to him and his family.

Sorry Eric, but you gotta go.  You're fired.  The Deputy Clerk serves at the pleasure of the Clerk, and I am sure Nancy Conzelman took great pleasure in firing him.

He did nothing wrong.  He made no mistakes.  The only thing wrong, and the reason he was fired, is that he didn't work in the Treasurer's Office for Ron Edwards.

Now I will get back to a woman named Michelle Lozier.  I mentioned her earlier.  After Conzelman fired Eric Bacyinski, she appointed Ms. Lozier as Deputy Clerk, which wouldn't really mean much had she not worked for Big Ron Edwards.  Big deal you say?  It is a big deal.

Now Ron Edwards has eyes and ears in the Clerks Office.  Big Ron is a bit of a control freak, and with a trusted sycophant like Michelle Lozier as Deputy Clerk, he can always maintain power in the Clerk's Office.  I actually predicted something like this after the primary, in a blog called Absolute Power.

Nancy does what Rich/Ron tell her to do.  They got her elected, and she does their bidding in the clerks office.  The minute she quits doing that, she is gone.  End of story.

It is truly an incestuous situation on the Plymouth Township Board of Trustees.  Six peas in a pod, with one outsider.  Six peas in a pod, with one true Conservative Republican. How cozy.  At least for the six little peas.

Update:  Northville Township just called in.  They would be more than happy to provide me with a DVD copy of their board meetings for $5.00.  Imagine that.

Canton Township: $5.00 - City of Plymouth: 5.00 - Northville Township: 5.00 - Plymouth Township: $50.00  Kinda says it all.

In conclusion, I guess that I will share one more thought.  I have talked to many public officials in several municipalities, and most of them just laugh at the way the Plymouth Township Board of Trustees operate.  They can't understand how these clowns keep getting elected.

If you think about it, that kind of means that they are laughing at the people who continually elect them I guess...
