Belly Busters Owner Has Perfect Drink Recipe for St. Patrick's Day

David Arafat from Belly Busters in Plymouth shows how to make an Irish Car Bomb drink.

The Irish Car Bomb, a popular adult drink at bars around St. Patrick's Day, can easily be made at home with these easy tips from David Arafat from Belly Busters in Plymouth.

The drink, which combines a stout beer, whiskey and Irish creme, resembles a chocolate milkshake when properly mixed.

To get started, Arafat says, you'll need Guinness or a comparable stout beer, Jameson or a comparable whiskey and Bailey's or a comparable Irish creme. You'll also need a pint glass and a shot glass.

Check the video for the step-by-step instructions, and be sure to drink it at once, or else the dairy in the Irish creme will start to curdle in the cup.

As always, drink responsibly and legally.

What an ugly insensitive name, 'Irish Car Bomb' celebrating terrorist acts of killing citizens in Ireland troubles with the Catholic vs Protestant era of sorrow. Would American bars serve a drink called "Sandy Hook Shooters"?

I looked into the name and the person who apparently is credited with coining the drink name some 34 years ago while he and a friend toasted their grandfathers has said he wishes he would have chosen a different name. Unfortunately the name stuck, and the drink remains a popular staple of St. Patrick's Day — and the addendum "bomb" for drink names has since taken on a life of its own with Jager bombs, etc. (http://www.wtnh.com/dpp/news/new_london_cty/norwich-irish-group-slams-cocktail#.UUNPONF4ZFY)

Personally, I don't think you should be pushing adult beverages in The Patch. Especially ones that you have to drink down immediately. How about a recipe for Irish Car Bomb cupcakes? These have the best frosting I've ever tasted.
