Caribou Coffees in Plymouth and Surrounding Area are History

The Caribou Coffees in Plymouth and Livonia closed Sunday. What should go in their place?

The signs were removed Tuesday from two former Caribou Coffee locations in the Plymouth-Canton area. The letters were taken down one by one and stacked onto a truck before being shipped away.

Caribou Coffee closed a string of 160 stores across the country including the shops in Plymouth and Livonia, which closed Sunday.

The decision relates to a corporate acquisition of Caribou by Joh. A. Benckiser Group (JAB) in December 2012. The same company also acquired another large coffee company, Peet's Coffee and Tea Inc., which happened in October 2012.
