New Old Village Association Board Aims to Beautify, Promote Area

Association elects members, officers.

The Old Village Association, a group of business owners and residents in the historic Plymouth neighborhood, have assembled a new team to help draw visitors and business.

Patrick Kelleher, owner of and newly elected president of the association, said the Old Village Association aims to promote and beautify the Old Village area. Its funds for improvements and events, he says, are raised entirely by fundraising and does not utilize any city funds.

"We all kind of put together our own fundraisers," he said.

Kelleher said the group also sells ads for its quarterly newsletter, Old Village Voice.

Kelleher said the association is in the process of getting approved as a 501c3 nonprofit organization.

The new Old Village Association officers, elected last week at Hermann's Olde Town Grille, include Kelleher, Vice President Tony Sebastian, Treasurer Latricia Horstman and Shirley Smith and Shaun Seabolt splitting secretary duties. At-large members include Smith, MarkOppat and Nikki Hermann. Plymouth City Commissioner Ed Hingelberg serves as a liaison to Old Village and also is active in the Old Village Association's affairs.
