Plymouth Township Big Boy Closes, Kroger to Expand

Restaurant closing makes way for store expansion.

The on Ann Arbor and Sheldon roads served its last dish this past weekend, the Plymouth Observer is reporting, making way for an ambitious expansion at Plymouth Square Plaza.

The move happened after a December vote by the Plymouth Township Board of Trustees to amend a 1998 consent judgment between the township and owners of the plaza, the report said.

The amendment will allow an addition of 15,550 square feet on the north side of Kroger, as well as 10,850 additional square feet for an attached building and adding a Kroger gas station at the northeast corner, where a bank once operated, the report said.

Another building with four businesses, including Great Clips, , and restaurant, will be razed, allowing the businesses to move into the additional 10,850 square feet attached to Kroger.
