RealBarBQ in Canton Collects More Than 200 School Supplies in Benefit

Canton restaurant participated in Salvation Army's Back to School Blitz.

Many children look forward to arriving on the first day of school with new notebooks, backpacks, and new writing supplies, but it's a different story for children whose families cannot afford these items.

of Canton looked to raise awareness and help kids in the Plymouth-Canton community who are in need with a recent promotion to help students in need.

The restaurant collected more than 200 items to be donated to the Salvation Army for its Back to School Blitz program, providing donors giving at least $5 in supplies a free dessert, according to a news release.

Among the items donated, the news release said, were composition books, pencils and markers.
