From WXYZ-TV "A 16-year-old boy was shot early Sunday morning outside Canton's After Dark Teen Club. The club caters to customers under the age of 19 and was holding a "Blackout Twerk Party" at the time."
The After Dark Teen Club was hosting a “Blackout Twerk Party” for teens between the ages of 13-19. Twerking is a sexually suggestive dance made famous by Miley Cyrus at the Grammy Awards recently.
It appears that the victim was involved in an altercation outside of the club with several other teens, and that one teen pulled a gun, and shot the boy in the thigh. He was taken to a local hospital by paramedics, and does not have life threatening injuries.
As of Sunday afternoon, the shooter has not been apprehended.
The After Dark Teen Club is at Lilley Road near Joy, and at their website they advertise that they have security guards both inside and outside the club.
I called the contact number listed on the After Dark Teen Club website, and a gentleman answered, but claimed to be the "janitor", and when asked about the incident, he hung up.
So the question I have is where was the security, and did the shooter actually get into the club with a gun?
I am sure many parents are asking these same questions.
