3. Plan ahead: A Taste of Greece Cultural Festival starts this week

Experience the sights, sounds, smells and tastes of Greece this weekend at the 8th Annual Taste of Greece Festival hosted by . 

Events and food are available for the whole family. The event runs Aug. 24-26 at the church, with $2 admission (kids 12 and under get in free). The Nativity of the Virgin Mary Greek Orthodox Church is located at 39851 5 Mile Road, and a free shuttle is offered from the adjacent Bosch parking lot.

2. Plan ahead: Lin Rountree performs in Canton on Friday

This Friday from 7-9 p.m. at , the Canton DDA in cooperation with Canton Leisure Services and the Canton Chamber of Commerce welcomes Lin Rountree to the 2012 Canton Color Tour Jazz Series.

Known for his new approach known as Soul Jazz, Lin Rountree will share his music for the first time at the Canton Summer Jazz Series. He attended Florida A & M University, where he developed a deep appreciation for jazz music. After travelling across the country, he planted his roots in Detroit, known for its richness in R&B, Soul, and Jazz.
