Canton Idol 2012's preliminary round for high school singers will be 7 p.m. at . Canton Idol is the search for the best middle school and high school singers in southeastern Michigan. There are cash prizes of $500, $300 and $200 for the top three finalists. The finals are Aug. 30.

Plymouth forward J.T. Miller was named to team USA, Scott Wedgewood was named to Team Canada, center Rickard Rakell made Team Sweden and defenseman Dario Trutmann was named for Team Switzerland.

Good job. My source for that question: A set of Whalers hockey cards I received at Showcase Taste of Plymouth. There was a special series for the WJC players.
