5. See 'A Christmas Carol' in Canton today

A musical version of Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol comes to the Village Theater with showtimes today through Sunday.

4. Whalers game tonight offers charitable Teddy Bear Toss, Salute to Heroes 

Active military personnel and veterans can see a free Whalers game at 7:05 p.m. Saturday at Compuware Arena during the team's Salute to Heroes. The game also will feature a charitable "Teddy Bear Toss." For those new to the Teddy Bear Toss, the first time the Whalers score, fans throw their stuffed animals on to the ice. Once the stuffed animals are collected, Plymouth Community United Way will find great homes for the comforting toys.

3. Plymouth Goodfellows paper sale is today

The Plymouth Goodfellows will sell its newspapers from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. today in downtown Plymouth to ensure there's no child without a Christmas.

2. Plymouth Historical Museum offers craft show, bake sale today

The Plymouth Historical Museum will have a craft show, bake sale and open house from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. today. Admission to the museum will be free during the open house, and Santa Claus will be at the museum all day.

The museum has its Dickens Christmas exhibit open 1-4 p.m. each Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday through Jan. 13. 

1. 'It's a Wonderful Life' actress coming to Penn Theatre on Sunday

It's a Wonderful Life actress Virginia Patton will make an appearance Sunday at the Penn Theatre in Plymouth, introducing her most famous role. Patton will appear at the theater at about 3:45 p.m., in advance of the theater's 4:15 p.m. screening.
