5. Mr. Steve of SteveSongs in concert tonight, Saturday
PBS Star Mr. Steve" will be in concert 7 p.m. at the Village Theater at Cherry Hill. Steve Roslonek, ‘SteveSongs’, blends participatory songs, clever stories and great melodies. In May 2008, Steve took on the role of "Mr. Steve," co-host of the PBS KIDS preschool destination that features the popular shows Curious George, Clifford the Big Red Dog, and Super Why. Tickets are $14 to $16.
4. Family Holiday Cookie Competition
Take part in the Family Holiday Cookie Competition 2 p.m. Saturday at the Canton Public Library. Bring in a dozen cookies (or more!) from one of your favorite recipes, four to share with our panel of judges to evaluate on both taste and presentation and the rest to share with the lucky attendees.
3. Plymouth Whalers Host Saginaw Spirit
The Plymouth Whalers host state rivals the Saginaw Spirit 7 p.m. today at Compuware Arena. The game is a $5 Fridays night, meaning certain sections of Compuware Arena can be purchased for $5 per seat.
Also, the Whalers are holding a food drive for Gleaners Community Food Bank of Southeastern Michigan. Fans are encouraged to bring non-perishable food to the game and will then be eligible for prizes.

1. Worldwide Candle Lighting Ceremony
There will be a special ceremony and candle lighting 7:30 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Kellogg Park in downtown Plymouth in memory of children who have died too soon.
Attendees can come early to view the memory trees of the Walk of Trees with ornaments made by The Compassionate Friends. The program includes candle lighting, reading of the children's names and music.
