5. If you see Spice/K2 variants for sale locally, contact law enforcement

Police Chiefs in Northville, Canton and Plymouth townships are issuing letters to nearly 100 businesses in the area, "warning they could face criminal or civil penalties if they sell an increasingly popular and dangerous drug commonly known as 'K2, Spice, Bath Salts,'" from Plymouth Township's police department. If you see the products for sale at retailers in Plymouth, Canton or Northville townships, contact your local law enforcement.

4. Plan ahead: Canton's Liberty Fest is next week

Prepare for carnival rides, live music and family-friendly entertainment as Liberty Fest returns to Canton next week. The festival runs June 14-16 at Heritage Park in Canton. You can find more details on the event's website.

3. Whalers take a shift at Tim Horton's today

The Plymouth Whalers – in association with Tim Horton's – in Livonia from 3-5 p.m. today to help raise proceeds toward the Tim Hortons Children’s Foundation during their annual Camp Day fundraiser. Whalers Danny Vanderwiel and Mitchell Dempsey will be working as guest servers at the Tim Horton's located at 33500 Plymouth Road, just west of Farmington Road.

Are you a Whalers fan? Mark this date on your calendar: The team will face off against the London Knights on Dec. 29 at Comerica Park in as part of the inaugural Hockeytown Winter Festival in downtown Detroit.

2. Ann Arbor Trail at I-275 to close today

Ann Arbor Trail at the Interstate 275 overpass will close today as part of a massive project. Detours are available by traveling along Ann Arbor Road over I-275.

1. Plymouth-Canton commencements are Sunday at Eastern Michigan University

Plymouth-Canton Educational Park's commencement ceremonies are Sunday at Eastern Michigan University's Convocation Center, 799 N. Hewitt in Ypsilanti. Plymouth students walk at 11 a.m., Canton walks at 2 p.m. and Salem walks at 5 p.m. Each senior will receive two complimentary non-reserved tickets.  Additional tickets can be ordered by contacting Eastern Michigan University by telephone at (734) 487-2282. The cost is $5 for each ticket. All persons over the age of five are required to have a ticket to enter the arena. There will be no tickets sold or otherwise distributed at the door.
