5. Plan ahead: Plymouth Farmers Market opens Saturday

The Plymouth Farmers Market opens at 7:30 a.m. Saturday at the Gathering pavilion alongside in downtown Plymouth. The market runs until 12:30 p.m. and will run most Saturdays during the summer, excluding Art in the Park, holidays, and other weekends with conflicting downtown events.

4. 'Lover Come Back' screens at Penn tonight

Visitors to the in downtown Plymouth tonight can see Rock Hudson and Doris Day star in Lover Come Back, a film depicting Jerry Webster and Carol Templeton, both active in the advertising business, but for different agencies. Annoyed by Webster's methods of using alcohol and women to ensure contracts for his agency, Templeton tries to get him thrown out of his profession. The film is not rated and runs 107 minutes. The screening starts at 7 p.m. All seats are $3.

2. May 12 rummage sale to benefit Baby Hunter

Family and friends of Hunter Sewejkis, an infant who was critically injured in a case of suspected child abuse, are at WideWorld Sports Center, 2140 Oak Valley Drive in Ann Arbor, through Rummage for a Cause to benefit Hunter and his grandparents to assist with expenses for caring for the child. The sale runs from 8 a.m.-3 p.m. and features a wide variety of vendors.

1. Plan ahead: Relay for Life in Canton is May 19-20

An American Cancer Society's Relay for Life event will be held May 19-20 at in Canton. Relay for Life is a 24-hour relay-style walk to raise funds to fight cancer. Money raised goes toward research funding, resources for the cancer.org website and 24-hour hotline, Hope Lodge, which provides lodging assistance for cancer patients seeking treatment outside of their city, TLC kits for hair loss, rides to treatment, endless support, and more.
