5. 'A Christmas Carol' comes to Canton

A musical version of Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol comes to the Village Theater with showtimes Thursday through Sunday.

Showtimes are as follows:

  • 7 p.m. Thursday
  • 7 p.m. Friday
  • 2 and 7 p.m. Saturday
  • 2 and 7 p.m. Sunday

4. Experience Dickens Christmas this week at Plymouth Historical Museum

Want some historical perspective on Charles Dickens' life and works, the Plymouth Historical Museumhas its Dickens Christmas exhibit open 1-4 p.m. each Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday through Jan. 13.

The museum also will have a craft show, bake sale and open house from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. on Dec. 1. Admission to the museum will be free during the open house, and Santa Claus will be at the museum all day.

3. Special meeting tonight for Plymouth-Canton Community Schools

The Plymouth-Canton Community Schools Board of Education meets at 6 p.m. today in a special meeting at E.J. McClendon Educational Center, 454 S. Harvey in Plymouth.

2. Sign up for Plymouth Goodfellows paper sale

Plymouth Goodfellows is in search of volunteers to help sell its papers on Dec. 1 from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. to ensure there's no child without a Christmas.

This event takes place the first Saturday of December every year. The more volunteers, the more children the Goodfellows can help.

1. Canton trustees meet tonight

The Canton Township Board of Trustees meets at 7 p.m. tonight at the Canton Administration Building, 1500 S. Canton Center in Canton.
