5. Register in-person for Sept. 23 Run for Ribbons 5K in Plymouth

The inaugural Run for Ribbons 5K will sprint through downtown Plymouth on Sept. 23. Online registration just closed for the 5K and mile-long race, which will raise awareness of child abuse, but in-person registration begins Sunday at 6:30 a.m. at the Plymouth Community Arts Council building, 774 N. Sheldon, Plymouth. More details can be found at the Lighthouse Family Charity website.

3. Need help planning a wedding?

Attend the wedding showcase 1 to 3:30 p.m. at Red Olive Banquet Center, 1051 Ann Arbor Road in Plymouth. Cost of admission is $5 or three canned goods for Salvation Army Food Bank. This is an educational event to help plan your wedding.

2. Canton Farmers Market

Check out the Canton Farmers Market from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Preservation Park, 500 North Ridge Road. You can get seasonal produce, farm eggs, honey, artisan cheese, marinades, seasonings, blended teas, natural meats (without antibiotics or hormones), sauces, baked goods, natural soaps, soy candles and more. There is also free entertainment and crafts for the kids.
