5. Yom Kippur 

Join the Congregation Bet Chaverim 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. at Cherry Hill United Methodist Church, 321 Ridge Road, for Neilah and fast-breaking services as they observe and celebrate Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur. 

4. Restaurant Week comes to downtown Plymouth on Friday

Ten downtown restaurants will show off signature dishes starting Sept. 28 for Downtown Plymouth's Restaurant Week, which runs through Oct. 7. No tickets are required, but meals run between $15-35.

3. 2012 Scientific Symposium 

Science professionals and researchers will gather 9:30 a.m. at MMS Holdings Inc. headquarters, 6880 Commerce Blvd. in Canton. This annual one-day Scientific Symposium is free and is open to all individuals in the pharmaceutical and bio-tech arenas.

2. Brown Bag Books 

Visit the Plymouth District Library at noon for a Brown Bag Books meeting to discuss the Septembert book selection Cloud Atlas by David Mitchell. The novel is one complete story told through six inter-related vignettes from the 19th century to the distant future.
