Fall Fest starts today, and other things you should know around Plymouth and Canton.

Trivia: With the prep football season under way, the Plymouth-Canton marching band season also is in full swing. Which song did the band perform on national television as part of the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade in 2011?

Yesterday's trivia answer: Geoff Johns, a Metro Detroit native, introduced a new "Green Lantern" lead character who is Arab-American and resides in Dearborn in a special "0 Issue" released this week by DC Comics.

5. Canton Library's First LEGO Contest

Kids in first through sixth grades are invited to first LEGO contest. Participants will build their dream library out of LEGOs and have it displayed in the Children's Library during September. Participants are welcome from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

4. First Full Day of Classes

It is the first full day of school for after starting the 2012-13 academic year on Tuesday .

3. Watch 'The Brave' at The Penn

will start showing Disney Pixar's The Brave at 7 and 9 p.m. Tickets are $3.

2. Family Jump Time

It's Family Jump Time at from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Families can play together on the giant, soft interactive inflatables. Children are $7 and parents play for free.

1. Fall Festival Starts Today

Head out to Downtown Plymouth today at noon and the rest of the weekend for Fall Festival. There is a carnival, Taste Fest, pancake breakfast, live music, pet show, car show and more.

The festival is open from noon-11 p.m. Friday; 7 a.m.-11 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Sunday.
