5 Things You Should Know This Week

Here are five things every Plymouth resident should know this week.

  1. Plymouth City Commission talks streets, sidewalks

    At 7 p.m. Monday, the Plymouth City Commission will have a regular meeting at . Among the topics being discussed are sidewalk and utility patch repair, the 2011 infrastructure program (street paving), fire hose nozzles and having its summer meetings in the parks. This big issue, however, could be a request by the on Ann Arbor Trail and South Main Street to pay a fee in lieu of providing parking.

  2. Master gardener, author branches out to Plymouth District Library

    Master gardener, author and educator Janet Macunovich will return to the  at 7 p.m. on Tuesday. She will discuss future trends in the gardening industry. Macunovich has 26 years of experience designing, planting and maintaining perennial gardens and landscapes, according to literature provided by the library. Registration is required, but is free.   • Liberty Street Brewing Company plans trash crab

    will have a  at 8 a.m. Saturday. Registration at 8 a.m. and volunteers will ride at 9 a.m. and return by noon with collected trash.  The top three collectors win a prize.  Snacks and discounts at the Liberty Street Brewing Company are provided.

  • Plymouth, Canton compete in track regionals at Canton

    Teams from Plymouth and Canton will compete in track regionals Friday at Canton High School. Events begin at 9 a.m. In all, 17 schools are competing. Admission is $5 for adults and students. Passes will not be honored.

  • Compuware Arena hosts drive-in sneak preview

    Gear up for a vintage summer pasttime this week as the has its sneak preview on Friday and Saturday. Movie listings have not yet been announced, but details can be found on the venue's website. Price vary according to age.
