5 Things You Should Know This Week

Here are five things every Plymouth resident should know this week.

1.

Plymouth's is scheduled to start at 8:30 a.m. Monday at Main and Wing Street. A memorial service will take place immediately after the parade, approximately 9:15 a.m., at the , across from .

2. Plymouth Characters at Postponed

Because of scheduling conflicts with area graduations, graduation parties and weddings, the Plymouth Characters at has been postponed from June 3 until later in the summer, according to an email from organizers. 

3. Last Phase of Streetscape Project Begins

The second and final phase of the streetscape improvements will begin Tuesday. This phase will consist of repaving as well as curb, concrete and brick paver repairs as needed on Fralick, Penniman Avenue and Ann Arbor Trail between Forest Avenue and Harvey Street, and on Forest Avenue between Ann Arbor Trail and Wing Street. During this phase, crosswalks on Penniman Avenue and Ann Arbor Trail at Harvey Street also will be replaced.

4. Eyes on the Pie

The second Shepherd's Pie Eating Contest will be from 7-9 p.m. Thursday at , where you can have all you can eat in eight minutes.

5. Blood Drive Set at

The American Red Cross is sponsoring a summer blood drive from 1-7 p.m. Friday at . Those who donate will be entered into a raffle to win Cedar Point tickets, as well as being entered into a summer blood donor raffle for a $3,000 gasoline card. Those who register at redcrossblood.org will receive priority appointment scheduling, but walk-ins are welcome.
