Culinary Students Carve Wolves, Chameleons, More at Plymouth Ice Fest [VIDEO]

Oakland Community College culinary students compete in the individual ice carving competition Saturday against students from other schools like the University of Michigan and Henry Ford Community College.

Ken Mallet, first year student at the Oakland Community College (OCC) Culinary Studies Institute, entered the 2013 Plymouth Ice Festival College Individual Carving Competition with his "Wolf in the Wild" design.

Coach Gerneil Franklin, who has been an ice carving coach for six years, said it is Mallet's first time competing at the Festival.

He, along with Doug Gahns, a coach for more than 15 years, and first-year coach Chris Kurtz, worked with the four students from OCC to prepare them for the competition.
