1. Ramadan Invitation
The Muslim Community of Western Suburbs (MCWS) is inviting the public to a light dinner and community gathering at 8 tonight at the Canton mosque, 40440 Palmer Rd. As part of the evening, visitors can tour the mosque and ask questions, part of the "Ramadan: Food for My Soul" program. Ramadan is a holy month for those who follow Islam and as part of the observance, Muslims fast during the daylight hours and break their fasts after sundown. 2. Colbeck Aide to Meet Public
A representative from the office of Michigan Sen. Pat Colbeck R-Canton, in-district manger Jennifer Trussell, will meet with constituents at the Plymouth District Library, 223 S. Main St., Plymouth, from 6 to 7 tonight.
3. Cruz'n 528 Car Show
Save gas and show off your classic car at the Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 528's weekly car show. The show, 5 to 8 p.m. at VFW Mayflower/Lt. Gamble Post 6695, 1426 S. Mill St. (Lilley Rd.) in Plymouth includes a 50/50 raffle, door prizes, burgers, hot dogs, chips and drinks. Money from food sales benefits veteran relief efforts. DJ "KOZ" will provide the evening's musical soundtrack.
