Five Things You Need to Know in Plymouth — Oct. 14, 2011

1. Traffic map, photo trivia now included with 'Five Things'

We try to be your one-stop shop in the morning before you commute to work. Knowing this, we've included a live traffic map at the top of each "Five Things You Need to Know." The map, by default, is centered on Plymouth, but feel free to zoom and pan as you see fit to check traffic for your daily commute.

Also, we're launching a new photo trivia feature where we'll take photos of ambiguous locations in Plymouth and it's up to our readers to figure out where it was taken by guessing on the story's comments field. If we don't get any responses by early afternoon, we'll start dropping clues until someone guesses correctly. Today's photo is posted after our Five Things logo above.

2. Railroad crossing work to conclude today

According to a news release Monday from city officials, CSX Railroad in the Old Village area for repairs earlier this week. The road closures began Wednesday and are expected to reopen today. The Starkweather crossing was expected to stay open to all traffic.

3. Tonight: Northville at Plymouth; Today: Novi at Canton

Because of a rain-damaged grass field, the Plymouth-Canton Educational Park has changed some of its games.

Tonight, Northville and Plymouth duke it out for the KLAA title. The game kicks off 7:30 p.m. at the Varsity turf field. At 4 p.m., Novi plays Canton, also on the turf field. Tune in at Plymouth Patch, Canton Patch or Northville Patch for a live blog of tonight's game.
