1. Apply for Plymouth Community Youth Advisory Commission

Does your student want to become more engaged in the Plymouth community? The Plymouth Community Youth Advisory Commission is seeking applicants to serve on the expanding commission. The commission helps advise the Plymouth City Commission and other local government bodies in making decisions that affect — and reflect — the city's youth.

Applicants must be students between grades 7-11. Those interested in applying can contact the group's city commission liaison, Ed Hingelberg, at ehingelberg@ci.plymouth.mi.us. Deadline to submit an application is Nov. 3.

2. Guess where the mystery photo was taken

Check the photo in the same gallery as "Five Things" logo and try to identify in our comments where it is located! First comment gets mentions in tomorrow's Five Things. Sunday's photo, of the drive-in screen, went unsolved. We're re-running Monday's photo because nobody tried to guess that day.

3. Does your child have the most creative Halloween costume?

Which kid in America has the most creative Halloween costume in the pumpkin patch? That's what we intend to find out with your photos and the help of celebrity judge Heidi Klum, who will select the Grand Prize winner. More details are provided here on Patch.

4. Plan ahead: Wicked Halloween Run on Sunday

Plymouth will see its inaugural Wicked Halloween Run — consisting of a 10k, 5k and Monster Mile — on Sunday in downtown Plymouth.

According to the Plymouth Downtown Development Authority website, the event will offer a costume contest, live onstage dance performances to the Michael Jackson hit song "Thriller," with several courses and a haunted finish line. First aid stations and candy will be provided along the route. More information can be found on the race's website, www.wickedhalloweenrun.com.
