Five Things You Need to Know July 1, 2011

Township offices closed, library games and holiday weekend gas prices.

1. If you've got township business to do, it'll have to wait until Tuesday. , including the police department's records section, is closed Friday as part of a scheduled furlough day. Township employees are off work without pay as part of a negotiated budget cut. The administration remains closed on Monday, which is a paid holiday. Township offices resume normal hours beginning at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday.

2. Gamers, drop by to check out the board versions of Settlers, Carcassonne, and Puerto Rico, available between noon and 5:30 p.m. Saturday — and meet Board Gaming League of Canton members.
