Turkey Trot for a Cause, Canton Township offices closed and get ready for Small Business Saturday!

1. Government Offices Closed for Thanksgiving

The Canton Administration Building, Canton Public Safety's records bureau, police and fire administrative offices and ordinance enforcement unit will be closed Thursday and Friday in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday. Township offices reopen at 8:30 a.m. Monday. Police, fire and emergency services will operate normally, as will leisure services programs outside the township administration building.

2. Turkey Trot for Epilepsy Research

Packet pickup is starts at 3 p.m. today at for Canton's 9th Annual Turkey Trot, which benefits epilepsy research. This a 5k fun run is at (starting at at 9 a.m. on Thanksgiving morning).

Entry fees are $25 for adults and $10 for children 10 and under. Register online at csc.canton-mi.org, in person at , 46555 W. Michigan Ave., or by phone at 734-483-5600.

5. Find Plymouth-Canton Marching Band

The Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade, which includes Plymouth-Canton Marching Band, won't be broadcast live on Thursday but fan can look for a rebroadcast at 4 p.m. on the following channels: Comcast, 294; WOW, 130; and for those without cable services, WDIV Channel 4.2.
