Absentee ballots are due back; PeopleMover fares to rise and Park Players stage 'Fox on the Fairway.'

1. 'Fox on the Fairway'

are staging Ken Ludwig's "The Fox on the Fairway" at 7 p.m. today and tomorrow at the DuBois Little Theater in , 8415 N. Canton Center Rd. Producers describe the play as "a charmingly madcap adventure about love, life, and man's eternal love affair with … golf."

The curtain rises on all shows at 7 p.m. Tickets cost $10 and can be purchased outside the DuBois Little Theatre from 2:30 to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday.

2. Donate Food to Salvation Army

The has issued an appeal for help is hosting or sponsoring a food drive. The Salvation Army needs non-perishable, non-expired foods and toiletry items for the holiday food pantry. For details on how to help, email Laurie Aren at laurie_aren@usc.salvationarmy.org.

3. State Soccer Final for Canton Chiefs

boys soccer team heads west this weekend for a state-final match against Grand Haven, set for noon Saturday at East Kentwood High. The winner claims the Michigan High School Athletic Association's Division 1 title. (Pardon the editorializing, but: Go Chiefs!)

4. Absentee Ballots

The office, 1150 S. Canton Center Rd., will be open from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday to accept absentee voter applications for Tuesday's school board election.

5. Detroit People Mover Fares Rise

Higher rates for most Detroit People Mover users start on Monday. Children 5 and younger are still free, but a single trip for adults rises to 75 cents on Monday, 35 cents for seniors and those with disabilities. The bulk token rate rises to $60 for 100 tokens.

Hours of operation extend this month. Starting Saturday, the People Mover is available from 7:30 p.m. to 2 a.m.; Nov. 13, 11 a.m. to midnight for the Lions game against the Chicago Bear and again on Nov. 20; Thanksgiving hours are 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. Learn more by visiting Detroit People Mover online.
