1. Goodwill Fashion Show

Check out a fun fashion show sponsored by in Canton from 11 a.m. to noon today. HGTV's Cash & Cari star, Cari Cucksey, will co-emcee, donating some of her repurposed furniture and household accessories and sign autographs — it's all to raise money for the Goodwill programs which help Metro Detroiters get back to work. Also glamming up the event: DJ Raheim D’Andre and stylist Kris Endreszl of Novi’s Sweet and Sassy Salon. After the show, Cari will be available to meet attendees and sign autographs.

Shoppers can also benefit from today's fashion-show special prices: red-tagged items cost just 99 cents.

2. Ditch the Digital Waste

Canton residents -- heck, anyone from Wayne County -- can get rid of old computers, cameras, printers, televisions and other elecrtronic trash from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. today at Henry Ford Centennial Library, 16301 Michigan Ave., Dearborn. Free; guidlines are here.

5. Plan: VFW Pig Roast

The Mayflower Lt. Gamble VFW Post 6695 Men’s Auxiliary will host a pig roast on Oct. 8. This all-you-can-eat event costs $10 per person. Dinner include roast pig; Italian sausage, chicken, baked beans, potato salad, mac and cheese and a roll with butter. The party starts at 4:30 p.m. at and will include a 50/50 raffle.
