Plymouth-Canton Schools Election News, Halloween parade planned and free cats.
1. School Board Election
The 14 candidates for four seats on the Plymouth-Canton Communitty Schools board of edcation continue campaigning and now the Plymouth Community Chamber of Commerce has an online forum. Election Day is Nov. 8.
2. P-CEP Soccer Playoffs
The Plymouth Wildcats endured a 2-1 defeat by Novi in state district tourney play Wednesday — spectator Tonia Gibbs Phillips reported on Canton Patch's Facebook that the "boys played their hearts out," adding that Michael Shackleford scored Plymouth's lone goal.
With the Canton Chiefs win over Northville, 3-0, P-CEPers have a shot at besting Novi when the Chiefs take on that school at 1 p.m. Saturday, at Novi.

Wednesday's goals for the Chiefs were scored by Mitch Posuniak, Nathan Bergeson, and Ken Krolicki, with assists by Posuniak and Dan Ovesea.
3. Pet Appeal
Humane Society of Huron Valley has issued an urgent appeal, saying cages are full after responding to several hoarding situations so for now, adult cats adoptions are free and you can find two-for-one kitten specials Friday through Sunday. For details, visit HSHV's website.

4. Friday: Furlough Day
The , Canton Public Safety's records bureau, police and fire administrative offices and ordinance enforcement unit will be closed Friday for a furlough (unpaid day off).
Township offices reopen at 8:30 a.m. Monday. Police, fire and emergency services will operate normally, as will Leisure Services Department programs outside the township administration building.
Plan: Halloween Parade at The Summit
Canton Leisure Services' annual Halloween Trick or Treat parade is set for 4 to 7 p.m. Oct. 28 at , 46000 Summit Parkway. Children will troop from room to room for treats, getting a choice between taking a friendly path or a scary one. Organizers are asking for donations of $5 per family but requiring $10 for non-residents to offset the cost of the event.
