Michigan Senate Transportation Committee hearing on safety plans for Ford Road and the I275 and Haggerty intersections, and the curtain rising on Disney's Aladdin Jr.

1. Senate Transportation Hearing

Mark your calendars for 6 p.m. Tuesday and head to , for the Michigan Senate's transportation committee's hearing on proposed improvements to the Ford Road-I-275-Haggerty intersection  — considered one of the most dangerous in the state. For details call Canton Township Supervisor Phil LaJoy's office at 734-394-5185.

2. Jumping for Halloween

Not So Scary Jump! is set for 10 a.m. to noon for young children and 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. for older children Monday. Activities include jumping on inflatables, games, contests, prizes, pizza, drinks and crafts at the party place, 46090 Michigan Ave. Admission is $10 per child, $3 per adult for the morning session and $10 per children, $5 per adult for the evening session.

3. Election Test

The Public Accuracy Test for the Nov. 8 school board election is set for 10 a.m. Nov 2 at Clerk Terry Bennett's office, 1150 S. Canton Center Rd.

4. Township Offices Closure

The , Canton Public Safety's records bureau, police and fire administrative offices and ordinance enforcement unit will be closed in observance of Veterans Day, Friday, Nov. 11, and again on Monday, Nov. 14, for a furlough. Township offices reopen at 8:30 a.m. Monday. Police, fire and emergency services will operate normally, as will Leisure Services Department programs outside the township administration building.

5. Disney's Aladdin Jr.

presents Disney's Aladdin Jr. at Village Theater at Cherry Hill starting Thursday. The double cast includes children ages 6 to 14, featuring Brent Moore and Anirudh Keshamouni as Aladdin, Korina Deming and Sophie Szczotka as Jasmine, Aleksander Papanastasopoulos and John Szczotka as the Genie, Brenden Genaw and Alex Lipinski as Jafar, Olivia Deming.

Curtain rises at 7 p.m. Thursday through Sunday and 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at Village Theater at Cherry Hill. Tickets range in price from $12 to $15.
