The Summit reopens, Detroit's Jazz Fest is in full swing and gas prices ... well, they're going up.
1. Summit Reopens
reopens at 6 a.m. after a week of begin closed for annual maintenance. One very important rule change, according to a township announcement: "All children under the age of 12 must pass the swim test to be in the water unaccompanied by a parent or adult guardian. If your child cannot pass the swim test a parent or adult guardian must be in the water, directly supervising their child from no more than 10 feet away. The swim test consists of swimming 25 yards and treading water for one minute."
2. Dirt Bike Racing Clinic
Bicyclists, check out Two Wheel Tango Canton's Cyclocross clinic from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. today. The seminar is for everyone from the curious and newbies to experienced racers Topics cover bikes, tires and other equipment, followed by practice with barriers and a possible dirt road ride. 3. Detroit's Jazz Fest

4. Gas: $3.73
Could this be Labor Day weekend? The lowest gas price in the township, $3.79, is at no fewer than nine stations, according to GasBuddy.com. But you can buy gas for $3.73 if you head to Westland. Get it at Admiral, 542 N. Wayne Rd. or Firebird, 35425 Ford Rd.
5. Plan Ahead: Farmer's Market
Here's a way to help your children learn about conservation, from water and electricity to other limited resources. Peace, Love & Planet will host a "green workshop" at the from 10:30 to 11:30 Sunday morning. Free.
