The final of 2011 is set for 5:30 to 8 tonight at the Mayflower/Lt. Gamble VFW Post 6695, 1426 S. Mill St. (Lilley Rd.), Plymouth. Proceeds from food and drink purchases support veteran relief programs run by Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 528.

2. 'Grease' Cast Announced

Forever After Productions has just announced members of two complete casts for , set to take the stage on Jan. 27, 2012. and Alex Armesto will alternate starring roles as Danny while Emily Gross and Alyssa Daly will take turns onstage as Sandy. (And for those young people yearning for a stage role, auditions for Little Women are right around the corner.)

5. Plan Ahead: Sept. 11 Memorial

The Muslim Community of Western Suburbs, 40440 Palmer Rd., will host a memorial service at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, which will include both religious and community leaders.

In addition to services, the MCWS is asking participants to bring food that can be donated to area food pantries. An often-forgotten statistic from that terrible day 10 years ago is that  dozens of American Muslims were among the nearly 3,000 victims of the terrorist attacks.
