Five Things You Need to Know Wednesday, June 1

Check out the news about chicken dinners and a lost dog.

One: The Historic District Commission's meeting for tonight has been canceled. The board's next regularly scheduled meeting is 7 p.m. July 6 at the Cherry Hill School, 50440 Cherry Hill.

Two: It's the last day to audition for ' Disney's Camp Rock: The Musical. Hopefuls need to be at the between 5:30 and 9 p.m. today. Shows are set of July 22 through July 31. Performers must be between the ages of 10 and 20 as of today. The audition fee is $5 and tuition for the show is $200. For details visit Forever After online or call 734-453-0088.

Three: Canton Township's voluntary water use request is in effect. This means watering lawns and gardens, filling pools or washing cars on odd or even days, depending on the last number in your address. The township asks those with automatic watering systems to schedule watering between midnight and 6 a.m. The reason for the request: Canton's water supplier, the Detroit Water and Sewerage Department, calculates prices based on distance between the town and water plant; the elevation of the community compared to the water plant and the highest daily usage in a community. People with questions can call Canton’s Public WorksDivision, 734-394-5150.
