It's a furlough day at Canton Township offices.
1. Furlough Day
The , Canton Public Safety's records bureau, and administrative offices and ordinance enforcement unit will be closed today for a furlough. Township offices reopen at 8:30 a.m. Monday. Police, fire and emergency services will operate normally, as will Leisure Services Department programs outside the township administration building.
2. Jazz & Blues in the Blue District
Thornetta Davis is set to sing onstage for the The Canton Color Tour Summer Jazz Concert Series—and in the Blue District, no less, also known as near . The Detroit songbird's show is scheduled for 7-9 p.m. Bring your own lawn chair.

The Miracle League of Plymouth has scheduled an opening ceremony at noon Saturday for Bilkie Family Field, 357 Theodore in Plymouth, right behind Central Middle School. The field provides people with disabilities the chance to enjoy playing barrier-free baseball games.
