Friends Search for Missing Canton Man

Matthew Morris, whose car was found parked at Emagine Canton, has been missing for a week.

Friends and police are desperately searching for 36-year-old Matthew Morris of Canton, who disappeared a week ago.

Dustin Brungardt, who is friends and colleagues with Morris, wrote on his Facebook page that Morris disappeared between Jan. 13-14 and his car was found parked with a flat tire at Emagine Canton.

According to the Canton Observer, Morris worked at Kroger in Canton and is a diabetic. The Observer reports Morris left his diabetic supplies in his Canton apartment near Ford and Lotz roads, along with his cell phone.

According to Brungardt's Facebook post, Morris is 36 years old, approximate 5-foot-10, about 180 pounds, wears glasses and usually wear a light blue Seton Hall University baseball cap.

Mandy Neher-Kaufman, who has worked with Morris at Kroger for 12 years, said she last heard from Morris on Jan. 9.

Neher-Kaufman said Morris has struggled with anxiety issues and has been in and out of hospital care, but always checked in with his coworkers with his whereabouts. She said Morris' Kroger colleagues essentially are his family and that Morris doesn't keep in contact with his biological family from out of state.

Those with information are asked to call the Canton Police Department: (734) 394-5400.
