Where/When: The in Canton; Friday at 8 p.m.

Why Go: Bring a list of your favorite songs and get ready to see some genuine creativity in action. Jazz artist Kathy Kosins will sing songs, not only by request, but in any style you choose. The concert also benefits The Village Theater.

Where/When: on Saturday at 7:05 p.m.

Why Go: Have you been to a hockey game yet this season? Don't miss your chance. Catch the season finale when the Whalers take on the Guelph Storm.

Where/When:  on Saturday from 7-10 p.m.; open mic sign-up is from 6:15-6:45 p.m.

Why Go: Check out this Baseline Folk Society event. The goal is to preserve and promote traditional acoustic folk music. What better way than to be a part of it.

Where/When:  in Canton for lunch or dinner

Why Go: If you haven't been to Five Guys yet (they opened Monday on Ford Road), do yourself a favor and give this build-your-own-burger joint a try. But, remember to take the fresh-cut fries out of the paper bag, so they won't get too steamy.

Pricing: Depends on how hungry you are

Where/When: Parisian at Laurel Park Place Mall on Sunday from 6:30-9:30 p.m.

Why Go: Here are a few reasons to go: after-hours shopping discounts, fashion advice from the experts, a strolling supper and, best of all, the proceeds benefit First Step and support victims of domestic abuse and sexual assault.

Pricing: $20 in advance; $25 at the door
