Get Out: Five Things to Do This Weekend

Catch live music at Kellogg Park, Source Code at the Penn, Hangover II at Compuware Drive-In.

Beat the heat and have some fun this weekend! Here are some events to check out.

1. Source Code comes to 

Where/When: 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. Friday, 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. Saturday, 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. Sunday and 7 p.m. on June 16 at the historic . Check the Penn Theatre website for more information and the latest times and showings.

Why Go: Source Code is a critically acclaimed action thriller by director Duncan Jones (Moon), who also happens to be David Bowie's son. Needless to say, he utilizes a same outside-the-box approach as his father. The film is rated PG-13.

2. The Sound Alternative hits  stage for 

Where/When: 7 p.m. Friday at Kellogg Park along Penniman Avenue.

Why Go: Enjoy the sounds of the Sound Alternative on Friday, as the band headlines the third week of Music in the Air. The band plays the hits, so attendees shouldn't have a hard time recognizing popular tunes.

Pricing: Admission and parking is free.

3. 

Where/When: 8 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday at Tipping Point Theatre, 361 E. Cady St., Northville, MI.

Why Go: "Crimes of the Heart," written by Beth Henley, is a black comedy about sisters and plenty of family drama. The show runs through June 25 from Thursday-Saturday.

4. The Hangover II and Bridesmaids adds raunchy humor to Compuware Arena Drive-In (and family movies are offered, too)

Why Go: After a one-week hiatus, the Compuware Arena Drive-In is open again Friday and Saturday before it begins its daily rotation Monday. This week's features include The Hangover II (R) with Bridesmaids (R); Kung Fu Panda 2 (PG) with Thor (PG-13) and Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides (PG-13) with I Am Number Four (PG-13).

Where/When: 7:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. along Penniman Avenue and South Main Street near the Gathering and .

Why Go: Enjoy fresh Michigan and U.S. produce as farmers and distributors set up shop all along near Kellogg Park.
