Loretta Olson volunteers at Canton Public Library's used bookstore, Secondhand Prose.

Just about a year ago, Loretta Olson, 81, of Plymouth decided to donate some of her spare time to .

You'll find her tucked away in the library's used bookstore, Secondhand Prose. She calmly answers patrons' questions and neatens the shelves when business is slow.

She was very nice about recording this morning's greeting but guess what? She probably won't see it right away. Loretta Olson does not have a computer, so, she said, "one of my kids will have to show it to me on their computer."

Olson said her children have offered to get her a computer but she seems to have plenty of other things to do with her time.

She retired more than 20 years ago from her job as a dispatcher for Plymouth-Canton Community Schools' bus drivers. She made great friends on the job, Olson said, adding that many of them meet regularly at Leo's Coney Island in Plymouth.
