UPDATE: DTE Says Power Returned to Canton After Massive Outage

8,000 residential and business customers were affected in Canton Township, according to DTE.

Power has been completely restored in Canton after a massive outage this morning, according to John Austerberry, a spokesman for DTE Energy.

About 8,000 business and residential customers were left without power in Canton Township this morning when a tractor-trailer crashed into a utility pole near Ford and Lilley roads, leaving six main power lines down, affecting homes, businesses and major intersections, DTE spokesman Scott Simons said,

Simons said about 8,000 homes and businesses in the area lost power after the accident, which occurred about 10:30 a.m. By noon, he said, about 6,100 of those people had power returned to their homes and businesses.
