Officer credited with saving man's life at ball diamond.

Sergeant Paul DiPietro of the Michigan State Police Metro Post is a recipient of a lifesaving resolution awarded Tuesday by the Canton Township Board of Trustees, according to a news release from the department.

DiPietro, a Canton resident, received this resolution as a result of his life-saving actions while off-duty on March 17. He heard someone screaming for help near the Canton Township ball fields, the news release seaid. When he arrived, he was told that a 51-year-old male had a heart attack. DiPietro started CPR and continued to assist the man until relieved by the Canton Fire Department, the news release said.
