National Weather Service Alerts Drivers to Snowy Surprise

More than 3 inches of snow in some parts of Canton by 10:30 p.m.

And the National Weather Service has updated its earlier snow forecast to predict up to three inches of snow overnight. A flood advisory remains in effect for low-lying areas, such as near the Lower Rouge River, though more in the Inkster and Dearborn areas. The changing temperatures have also caused areas of patchy fog. Weather statements issued Saturday evening included cautionary advice for drivers to slow down and watch for black ice.
