Updated: National Weather Service Warns of Thunderstorms, 70 mph Winds Until 10 p.m.

Service warns about risk of hail, flash floods.

According to the National Weather Service, numerous thunderstorms are expected this afternoon and evening in Huron, Tuscola, Sanilac, Genesee, Lapeer, St. Clair, Livingston, Oakland, Macomb, Washtenaw, Wayne, Lenawaee and Monroe counties. 

It also reported a chance of severe weather, as some of the strongest storms will be capable of producing damaging wind gusts up to 70 mph and hail up to 1.5 inches in diameter as they move East at 40 mph. 

The National Weather Service reported the potential for severe weather will be remain until 10 p.m. today. A thunderstorm watch was issued. Heavy rainfall and localized flash flooding also is possible.
