The Gathering in Downtown Plymouth to Close for Repairs

City officials ask drivers to find other parking areas in downtown Plymouth while the work is being finished.

The City of Plymouth Department of Municipal Services announced Wednesday that it will be closing the Gathering to all public uses, including traffic and parking beginning Monday, April 15.

During the closure, Target Building, Inc. will remove exhaust fans, make roof repairs and re-shingle the Gathering pavilion.

The nature of the work requires the area to be fenced off for the safety of the public, as well as the contractor completing the work. Throughout the project, every effort will be made to keep the sidewalks and the public restrooms at the Plymouth Comfort Station open, according to the Department of Municipal Services.

The closure will begin at 6 a.m. on April 15 and last approximately two weeks, with roof repair beginning immediately on April 15, re-shingling beginning the week of April 22 and completion of all work by April 30.

This schedule is subject to change, if there are changes due to weather, equipment, manpower and other unforeseen events.

City of Plymouth officials are asking drivers to find other parking areas available throughout downtown while the work is being finished. The parking lot between the Gathering and the Library and the upper level of the Central Parking Deck will be available for 8-hour public parking. On-street parking will continue to be enforced by the Plymouth Police for the posted limits.
