Viewfinder: Community Enjoys Fourth of July Picnic

With video: Watch two children, ages 9 and 5, perform 'Walk the Line.'

Thousands in the community returned to Plymouth Township Park today, just 12 hours after the conclusion of Sunday's fireworks, for some free family fun.

The event followed the Good Morning USA parade in downtown Plymouth.

Events were stationed throughout the sprawling park. Rock band Steve King and the Dittilies performed classics while children danced in front of a stage on loan from the city that's traditionally a fixture in Kellogg Park.

Bounce houses, face-painting and the park's Sprayscape splash pad provided fun for younger attendees.

Johnny Kincaid, 5, and his brother Billy, 9, both of Jackson, entertained attendees near the Sprayscape with their versions of popular rock, pop and country songs, complete with acoustic guitars and a harmonica.

Dan Czarniecki and his daughter Allie, both of Dearborn, spent some of the time fishing in the park's pond with a relative, Even Zagata of Plymouth.

An afternoon full of events was slated, including a pie-eating contest.
