Weekend Planner: Bowling, Bands and Blinged-Out Spectaculars

The weekend is officially here, and with that said, let's make the best of our brief time with the some entertainments and amusements, including:

Central City Christmas Spectacular

  • Where:
  • When: 6 p.m. today, noon and 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday
  • Pricing: $21
  • Why Go: The Central City Christmas Spectacular returns for its 8th season to the Village Theater. See more than 100 dancers, singers, actors and gymnasts from Canton and beyond in a show full of Broadway pizzazz.

"Old World Christmas Carols"

  • Where: Plymouth Historical Museum
  • When: 7 p.m. today
  • Pricing: $10 in advance, $15 at the door
  • Why Go: Simply Dickens will perform a holiday program, "Old World Christmas Carols," at the Plymouth Historical Museum. They'll perform music from the 18th and the 19th centuries, with a few holiday skits thrown in the mix. The show is 7 p.m., but museum doors will open at 6 p.m., so you're invited to stop by early to check out its "A Red Ryder Christmas Story" exhibit.

Plymouth Community Band Concert

Bowl with Santa

  • Where: Super Bowl of Canton
  • When: 1 p.m. Saturday
  • Pricing: $8.95
  • Pricing: Let the kids bowl with Santa. Cost includes a game, hot dog and pop, plus a special gift for your child. Pre-paid registration is strongly recommended to guarantee your spot.
