Free 'Senior Law Day' from Oakland County Bar Association

Sponsored by the Oakland County Bar Association (OCBA), the 11th Annual Senior Law Day, the free-to-attend event in Waterford, will educate —and provide assistance to — senior members of the community on the areas of law that most pertain to them at this time in their lives.

The event will be held on Thursday, May 15 from 9:45 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Hosted at the Waterford Senior Center in Waterford, the all-day event will feature lawyers leading informational sessions on a range of topics important to senior living and planning:

·Wills & Trusts (10 a.m. – 11 a.m.)

·Medicaid Planning/Michigan Estate Recovery (11:15 a.m. – 12 noon)

·Guardianship/Conservatorship (11:15 a.m. – 12 noon)

·Veterans Benefits (1 p.m. – 1:45 p.m.)

·Medical Powers of Attorney/Health Directives (1 p.m. – 1:45 p.m.)

In addition, lunch will be provided from 12 noon to 12:45 p.m. and a free ‘Ask-a-Lawyer’ one-on-one consultations will be available starting at 11 a.m. and going until the remainder of the event.

The Waterford Senior Center is located at 3621 Pontiac Lake Road, west of North Cass Lake Road, Waterford. The Oakland County Bar Association is a local legal organization dedicated to aiding in the professional needs of its more than 3,100 members and promoting the delivery of quality legal services to the public.
