The Lions
are assisting people in both communities during these economy time. They are
called upon to purchase many pairs of eye glasses for kids who parent cannot
afford to buy them. They also sponsor a scholarship program which allows for
the sight impaired to attend college. These programs along with Penrickton
Center for Blind and Handicapped Children, Michigan Eye Bank, Leader Dog School
for the Blind or Seedling who write Braille Books are just a few that the club
contribute to.

According to
Lion Larry Wegrzyn, President of the Canton Lions Club, it takes many fund
raising events for the Lions Club to assist those in need. The Club holds fund
raising events such as a Euchre Tournament, Pancake Breakfast at the Canton
Liberty Fest, Corn Roast in August during the Canton's Village Faire are but a
few. The Lions are dependent on the public's contribution to complete all these
worthy projects. We encourage the public to support our efforts and contribute
what they can.

We're
beginning our White Cane Week which is spring project allowing the Lions to
renew with the public the various needs the blind and hearing impaired have in
life. It may be a low vision reader or a cataract operation for the sight
impaired. The hearing impaired need hearing aids or a hearing phone which allow
them to have contact with their family and friends.

The Canton
Lions Club are a group of men and women who identify needs within the community
and work together to fulfill those needs. We are currently seek new members to
assist us with the needs in our communities. For more information or to get
